Year 6 go back in time!
On Wednesday 9th October, Year 6 went to Beamish Museum to take part in an evacuee workshop. This helped bring their topic ‘A Child’s War’ to life as they witnessed first hand what it was like to be a child living in World War Two. All of year 6 behaved beautifully and did the school proud. Well done year 6 and keep up the hard work!
Year 4 just love to read

House Captain Elections!
The house captain elections took place recently at school. The children were split into their various house colours so that they could listen to the speeches of the potential house captains. After this, the children voted for their favourites. Here are our very proud House Captains and Vice House Captains for 2019 to 2020. Well done everyone!
Roald Dahl Day
Children loved exploring Roald Dahl poetry and performing to their class members as well as a themed school dinner. Check the school Facebook site for photos of the magical day.
Football Results
South Stanley Junior School took part in our first football fixture this term against 3 other local schools. Our boys lost one match and drew the other two. Well done to all who played and let’s hope we have another successful season!
