Y4 Foundation lessons – Spring Week 6 (8th -12th February 2021)
Green group children are for those who access reading plus at school.
Red group are for the other children.
This work will be uploaded daily to Teams with the instructions. There will also be recorded lessons on YouTube for Science, History and RE . The information for these will be uploaded onto Teams ready for the day we expect you to do the work.
This week we have Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 9th February – all lessons for this day are linked to staying safe online.

|Art||Can I create a picture using a mosaic||To create a Roman picture using a mosaic style.||In last weeks lesson you were asked to create a pattern using a mosaic style. This week look t the Roman pictures which are created using mosaics. Can you create your own Roman style picture using a Mosaic.||PDF on Roman Mosaics|
|PSHCE||What do we need to pay for when running a house?||Explain how you would prioritise payments in a house.||Mind map – what does your family spend money on? (speak to your adult at home if you are able to). Are there non-essential ways of spending money? How do you decide what to spend money on? Are some of the costs more important than others? Sort the costs you came up with into order of importance.
Can you split your spending into 3 categories essential, non– essential and luxury. Children to write in the ways of spending money. Write a brief explanation about why you put each of your spending in each of the groups.

Below are some tasks linked to your Cornerstones topic I am Warrior.
|Task||Use online mapping tools to find out distances between Roman towns, such as Doncaster and Manchester or York and Bath. Record your findings in a simple table or spreadsheet. How many Roman towns can you find in the UK?
Note: You could use Ordnance Survey maps to identify any potential Roman roads that still exist in Britain today, such as Wheeldale Moor (North Yorkshire), Holtye (Sussex), and Blackstone Edge (near Littleborough, Greater Manchester).
|Explain, in your own words, what you think the Romans did for us. Consider how the world might be now if there had been no Roman influence on society. Can you compile a top 10 list of things the Romans did for us?
|Listen to descriptions of a range of different individuals that we have come across throughout our I am Warrior topic. Listen out for clues to help you decide who is being described. Can you share an additional fact or piece of information about each person?
