COVID-19 Updates

Returning to school – January 5th 2021

(Published Sunday 3rd January)

After careful consideration, as of Tuesday 5th January school will remain open to vulnerable children or those of critical workers ONLY.  This is initially for two week and it is very important we stress that these places will be limited.

HOW TO ACCESS SCHOOL PROVISION

If, during the initial lockdown period, your child attended school, you will be contacted by a member of staff by telephone tomorrow to discuss your requirements for the next two weeks.
If we have not been able to reach you before 2pm please email your Headteacher on p2226.admin@durhamlearning.net using the title ‘School Provision’ stating the following
  • Child’s name & class
  • Your name and telephone number
  • Days you require – these will all be full days
  • Your employment details and those of any other carers living in your household including job title, employer’s name and contact number.

Upon receipt of your email, a member of staff will contact you to make the necessary arrangements for your child.

If you are new to school, or your circumstances have changed, please email your Headteacher on p2226.admin@durhamlearning.net no later than 1pm on Monday 4th January stating the following:
  • Child’s name & class
  • Your name and telephone number
  • Days you require – these will all be full days
  • Your employment details and those of any other carers living in your household including job title, employer’s name and contact number.
Again, someone will contact you as soon as we can to make the necessary arrangements for your child.
Our out of hours care, drop off and pick-up times and locations, as well as lunch arrangements will remain as normal.  Children accessing the provision will also be required to wear full school uniform.

ONLINE LEARNING

Online learning for all children will commence on Tuesday 5th January.  More details of this will be provided tomorrow.

BENEFIT RELATED FREE SCHOOL MEALS

A packed lunch will be provided to those children in receipt of benefit related free school meals who are not accessing our school provision.
Should you require one, please email us DAILY before 9am on p2226.admin@durhamlearning.net using the title ‘Benefit Related Free School Meals’ stating the following:
  • Child’s name and class
  • Your name and telephone number
You will be advised of the time in which you can collect your child’s meal.  Regrettably, meals will not be delivered and anyone failing to collect their meal/s will not be eligible for future meals.
We understand there is a lot of information to take in and we are working as fast as we can to implement changes at a very late stage and so would again, ask for your patience and support during this very challenging time.

KEY WORKER QUESTIONNAIRES (published Thursday 19th March)

Children will bring home a questionnaire tonight with regards to school provision for children of ‘key workers’.
It is imperative you complete one and return it to school by 10am tomorrow.
If you are self isolating you do not need to complete one as your child would not need a place at school because of this.
The current criteria is set by the Government and not your school.
Please see the link below to download the form.
KEY WORKER QUESTIONNAIRE

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING SCHOOL CLOSURES

(published Wednesday 18th March)

* School will remain OPEN on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th March.
* Only those children who are not showing symptoms or whose household members are not showing symptoms should attend.
* If you are self-isolating as of tomorrow please telephone school to advise us of this.

Regarding key workers:
We are awaiting further guidance from the Government as to who this is, we anticipate that we will receive this tomorrow after which we will share arrangements with you.

In the meantime it would help us immensely if you could contact the school office tomorrow if you work in one of the following fields and anticipate you will need your child in education on Monday (if well):
NHS
Emergency Services
Armed Forces
Social Services
Teacher
Delivery
(Do not post this information on Facebook)

We are unsure as to what these arrangements will be but as always, will endeavour to support you as much as the situation allows.
